Pool Replastering

There are two main reasons to re-plaster your pool. One is for aesthetic reasons and the other is structural. The look and feel of your pool is not as important as the structural causes to re-plastering. Let's take a look at the below photos of signs that your pool needs re-plastering.

As you can see in the first two photos, mineral stains from iron or copper piping can really put an ugly brown stain on your pool's plaster. Another common damage are dark spots on the plaster that is chipping which is an indication of gunite  showing through. Gunite is the layer beneath the plaster which is basically the concrete. It is important to remember that the plaster is essentially the protective barrier between the concrete and the pool water. It acts as the water proofing mechanism to prevent damage to your pool's structure. These dark spots are initial signs to look out for that could mean structural damage down the road if not taken cared of immediately.

We offer 3 types of resurfacing material to re-plaster your pool.

        1. Plaster

Pros: least expensive and can be mixed with a variety of colors

Cons: it stains much faster due to its porous surface, attracts bacteria                              growth, uses more chemicals, and does not last as long as other surfaces

        2. Quartz

Pros: non-porous, stain resistent, longer lasting

Cons: it's slightly more expensive than plaster

        3. Pebble Finish

Pros: has  the most stain resistant  and durability, less expensive to maintain

Cons: the most expensive to install
